S.I. Joint pain is real pain found in approximately 10-14% of patients with low back pain. It can be caused by a:
- Shorter leg
- Traumatic injuries
- Previous lumbar fusion with rods and screws
- Previous back surgery
- Scoliosis and Arthritis

The pain is often confused with "Hip Pain" but the big difference is that "Hip Pain" occurs when you open and close your legs in a sitting position while S.I Joint pain is focused in the low back and radiates to the hip area.
